When experiencing technical difficulties with JerseyMail we recommend you carry out a few simple checks to eliminate other possible causes before calling through to the Helpdesk. The Helpdesk will not be able to check the set-up of your system and will not be able to test that your equipment or your software is operating correctly so it is helpful if you check these first:
- Please check your internet connection is working. If you are experiencing problems accessing JerseyMail, can you still access other sites on the internet? If you can't, the problem may lie with your modem, router, or Internet Service Provider (Jersey Telecom, Newtel etc).
- If you access your emails via a software application such as Microsoft Outlook, try to access them by browsing to www.jerseymail.co.uk. If you get through the problem is likely to be with the settings in Outlook.
- If you are still unable to resolve the problem, please refer to the frequently asked questions or "FAQ's" section of the on-line help. Many of the problems users of the service experience can be resolved by following these recommendations.
If you believe you have identified the problem with the above checks please contact your hardware supplier, technical expert or telephone network provider as appropriate.
If after eliminating the other possible causes you are still experiencing difficulties with JerseyMail, you may want to contact the JerseyMail Helpdesk. The Helpdesk service is available by calling 0905 629 1234. Calls are charged at £1 per minute (or part thereof) from a standard telephone line. The Helpdesk is only able to provide advice relating to the JerseyMail service, but will do everything they can to identify and resolve the source of your problem.
