The Block List filter allows you to maintain your own private list of addresses that you do not want to receive mail from. You will have a special address book called Block List and this filter will be applied to any addresses that are found to be in that address book. You can configure this filter by clicking on the "+" next to Filters in the left hand menu tree and selecting Block List from the expanded tree. A page with the following options is then displayed.

Filter Criteria
The Block List filter can be configured by clicking on the "+" next to Filters in the left hand menu tree then selecting Block List from the extended menu. The settings on the Filter Criteria Tab allow you to determine what element of a message to filter against. Matching messages will then be dealt with according to the Filter Actions that you set.
Filter Criteria
The only criteria for the Block List Filter is that the message arrives from an address that is in the Block List address book. Setting the filter to active means that the From and Reply-To fields of messages will be checked against the addresses in the Block list address book. If there is a match the actions you specify on the Filter Action tab will be applied to the message.
Filter Actions
The Block List filter can be configured by clicking on the "+" next to Filters in the left hand menu tree then selecting Block List from the extended menu. The settings on the Filter Action Tab allow you to determine what action is taken when a message meets the Filter Criteria you have defined.
Filter Action
Incoming mail that matches an address held in the Block List address book may either be transferred to the Quarantine folder or simply deleted altogether so that you never have to see it.
The Quarantine folder is a special folder that cannot be removed. It allows you to keep suspected spam messages for later review. It is a good idea when setting up a new filter to transfer messages to the Quarantine folder in the first instance. This allows you to review the effects of your filters and determine whether any of your settings are blocking genuine mail. This folder can be purged automatically. You can configure how often the Quarantine folder is purged by clicking on the "+" next to Preferences in the left hand menu tree and then selecting General from the extended menu.
Addresses can be added to the Block list address book in the same way as for any other address book. You can also click on the Add sender to block list button when reading a message.
